@DobieLover , much needed after clearing all poop boards, coops and confinements while snow is still falling.
Temperatures at about minus (-) 17 Celsius with rough winds. but the weather folks are predicting rising temperatures for the weekend.
I was thinking about the thickened/scarred skin on Seneca's vent and came up with Estradiol/Estriol gel. This might help to regain some elasticity due to the hormone, but would probably interfere with trying to stop her laying activity.
Some people even get their ailing hens an implant to stop the laying, thus gaining time to allow for healing, but I do not know if that would be something you might consider.
For me those implants would be out of the question, but apart from one very special old Araucana hen, all my other chickens are livestock, not pets.
