In all my years of breeding chickens I have never obsessed about the eggweight / moisture loss during incubation.
It make more sense for a Hatchery to do this since even a small percentage better hatch rate can equal a lot of profit for them.

Afternoon!
Hugs, DL! I just don't know what to say... Hugs! I am glad that the neighbors are watching out for your Mom, though.
It was 12 F this AM and blowing horizontally so the sheep are still wooly bears.
Tomorrow is another wrestling competition for HS and I hope they broadcast it somehow or another. It has been a fairly wonky process so far.
Have a great rest of the day!

Seneca is working on egg number 3. At night. I had her in the bathroom. She's not pushing consistently so I can't get at the egg.
I gave her a full calcium tablet.
She's being really frisky and keeps tugging at my sweater and flying up to the edge of the tub.
I put her in the crate next to the wood stove and offered her another fermented feed, ACV, Greek yogurt, probiotic concoction and she ate over half of it then dove into the water I gave her.

This is her vent today. Egg still in there. The bottom half still has a thick layer of crusty tissue on it. I think it's causing some of the loss of elasticity. But it's getting better.

Any luck here, Tonya?

Lots of false starts. Three times. She'll be in the crate straining, I'll bring her in to try to get it out and she stops pushing. She's staying in for the night. I don't know how much sleep I'll get.
