Maggie is a stick collector. Just to the left of our front porch is a pile of kindling that she has tried to bring into the house. We've activated the Invisible Fence, and next week a technician is coming to check it out, flag it, and give Maggie a training session. I will continue to train for a week, and she will then return and give an 'educational' training session. I've been keeping her on a long flexi as she is QUICK. Free ranging will help work off some energy.

Why did I ever give Maggie Mae an empty Gatorade bottle as a toy ? :barnie
:lau Brewster stole one of my red plastic cups yesterday and he thought that was grand fun! 😂 then he started shredding it and I thought he was gonna swallow it or cut his mouth so I took it. 😂
That it makes a hellaciously wonderful clatter on our wooden floors. So much more fun than her multitude of plush toys.

So far, sadly, she is not destroying it. If she were I would have a legitimate excuse for trashing her 'favorite'. Initially I put treats inside and left the cap on = what a wonderful clatter that made. She readily learned how to remove the cap. Tossed that as we feared she would swallow it. Last growth check she was 22+ inches at the shoulder and weighed 38 pounds of bone and muscle. She's grown since then.
Wow she’s big!! I can’t wait to see how much Brewster has grown! I didn’t think he was growing at first 😂🤣 now I finally see that he has definitely grown but I still don’t think very much 😂 I’m sure he has though. He was 13.1 pounds apparently 2 weeks ago at 9 weeks. He’s definitely gotten a lot heavier 😂🤣 and taller. I guess it is harder to carry him now. We’ll see. He goes tomorrow.
our GSP is a tennis ball addict. has them hidden all over the farm-knows where they all are!
:lau Brew discovered the joys of tennis balls the other day! He loves entertaining himself with them 😂🤣 he’ll roll around and run after them and drop them and pick them up again and has a grand time wrestling them! And if I toss one, he’s started barrel rolling when he stops 😂 guess he gets going too fast :lau

Luckily the yard here is fenced but even when I take him over to “Grandpaw’s” he stays right with me like a good boy. ❤️ I’m sure that will change but for now 😂 he also loves sticks! Always chomping on them and finding them.

Good morning Cafe. Had a cold front come through yesterday. Got cold enough at 5pm yesterday I told the kids lets go into the garage I'm cold. Spent the last 12hrs trying to get the stove going again. Put in a cresote log which is supposed to be self lighting at about 6 yesterday to clean out the flue. Put another round of lighter fluid and bark on it at 12am.
It should dry out enough this week to move some of the piled up hay and manure to some of the low bare spots.
I give my heeler those "indistructable" horse balls. The size of a basketball and she can catch it and crush it in mid air. It's time for a new one actually.

Is that one of those Jolly Ball things? I’ve always wanted to try one. I got Gator one of those big hard plastic balls a while ago. Not Jolly Ball but for dogs. I forget what brand it was now and when I looked it up, it seems there are several similar products now but it’s not those. But it was very hard plastic and about the size of a basketball like yours but no handle or anything. Mine was orange but they have different colors now. ANYWAY. The idea is for high energy dogs to wrestle it and “herd” it and wear them out but he didn’t want to play with it :lau he did a little at first but he realized he couldn’t bite it and hold it 😂 he preferred actual basketballs lmao

It will be good to let her run. How much space will she have when the she's in the fence?

I've trained all my dogs to hunting dog collars with either audio or vibration "warning". They all learned VERY quickly what it meant if you ignored the warning! When training what that beep/vibration meant, I gave a verbal command at the same time. Ignoring it got a low enough level pop to get the point across.

Bella and Skittles both listen immediately if I give the warning. Except yesterday. Bella recently learned the joys of sticks and was resource guarding one with her 1 yr old pit/lab mix buddy, Cocoa. Oh no you're not. She ignored the buzz and got the first pop she's had in months and immediately dropped the stick and ran up to me.

I've also noticed that Skittles has become much more playful since Fuji is gone. He romps on the bed now and has a great time playing with me. Any time he tried that before, Fuji, aka The Fun Police, would put a stop to it.

Fetch is the best dog tirer-outer......especially with a chuckit.
Good training activity too.
Maggie loved plastic bottles, she would sit and make them crackle overandovernadover in her mouth.

Rainy gloomy day here...been feeling punky the last few days.
Need to make some good food to recharge.
