Morning Cafe @LaFleche How in the heavens ?
I am trying to figure out how to make Jam of my berries without putting them in the freezer ?
Never made jam before no memory of Grandmas but the wax on them from the pantry
I put my elderberries or other berries in the freezer as well until I have the time and the amount needed for a proper "jam session".

If you can collect enough in one go, just wash them and go for it. The only ones I know of that need freezing to be palatable are blackthorn berries.

This might allow at least some visual partaking. Straight out of the oven:
Is that a typical apple pie in Germany?

This is common here in the US.
Crust is usually flour, lard, water.

Had to goggle this.
Take some pics as you get this together?
What a pain. But it will make finishing the peak soooooo much easier and safer.
I had to get my nephew out to help get the plank on the pump jacks. I still have to tie it to the arms, bring it up to where I need it then tie the ladder off to the plank.
I got distracted wiring up the motion control to the new coach lamps so I did that instead. And got two crates of pallet scrap that I'll have to stack tomorrow.
It's still wretchedly hot and humid and I'm soaked in sweat and grime, stink to high heaven and need a shower.

It is a good thing you had help!

Thought my fridge died this evening....puddle on the floor, fridge not running(it's ancient and often loud) but lights working. After I got towel to soak up puddle it was running again. Whew. Now I keep checking.
Is it frost free? Sometimes the frost free part has a problem.
