BYC Café

Good morning and thanks for the coffee. It is currently beautiful with snow and 70mph winds coming in for the weekend. They say not much accumulation here, not sure about Kansas...;)
DL, I hope for good results from the ultrasound. My DH is nursing a sore tooth but he says the yarrow tincture works wonders so not sure what the end plan will be.
The swallows are back and I heard a hummingbird fly over this morning during chores!
Enjoy the day, CAFE!

Thanks for the coffee. Two cups down the hatch, and I'll brew another pot.

DL, glad there is nothing worrisome about the ultrasound.

Last weekend DH cut up a large dead apple tree that (thankfully!) came down after we got the new mower uncrated and safely into the garage. The trunk is easily 16" in diameter, and almost all dry rotted, so no wonder the wind finally brought it down. I'm going to use chunks of it as hugelkulter logs in one of the gardens.

There was another old apple tree that dropped a large dead limb, and he cut that up too. I've been going out with Freya and pulling back a cart load of wood every morning. Wow, does apple make GREAT fire wood. Dense, long burning, and hot.

Tomorrow is supposed to be spring-like. Sunday, a little less so, and then Mother Nature puts her B-hat back on next week. :lau

The old roof is off.
There was a cracked truss, as I suspected.
I sistered it with an 8ft 2x4 centered on the crack on both sides of the truss. It's nice and strong now.
We replaced 2.5 sheets of plywood. Still need to do 2 more but I need to get the plywood. I'm out of gas.
We tarped the roof and I'm taking a little break before I unhitch the trailer and take Bella for a run.
About 15 minutes before I took this picture, someone threw a snowball at me.

Who would dare?!?!
One of my friends from work that helped me.

I caught Ace chasing Remi and went out to run him off then kept trying to get a picture of her bad eye but she kept circling Fabio and keeping her good eye on me so it was impossible.

Then Fabio decided I should stop doing that and flared his hackles at me and stepped towards me then it was game on. I kept grabbing at him and he kept twisting and jumping out of reach then turning around and flaring again. Once I moved him off about 30 feet to make my point, I turned around to see the snowball to thrower videoing us.

Heaven help him if that shows up on his FB page!!
