BYC Café

I would love to have some slash to fill in my trenches. The really heavy rain (3") we got last night washed some of the dirt back down in. I'll have to dig them out a bit after it dries.

Rant:
The last two weekends have had really heavy, hard rains, and our driveway is suffering for it. DH mixed up some concrete to fill in really a bad spot so it won't wear away and take out more of the blacktop. He put a couple orange cones up to keep people (us, really) from driving over the concrete while it cures.

About an hour later, someone who was going to visit our next door neighbors missed their driveway and came up ours. She drove right over the orange cone, and the concrete.:duc

DH smoothed it out, but we were both pissed. He's parked his car at the end of our drive for the next day or so. We're the end of a dead end road, so we aren't blocking anyone else in or out.

Time to get estimates on a new driveway. Might have to wait until next year though. We'll see what we can patch with concrete. And orange cones.

Idiot. She couldn't see a bright orange safety cone?!
We've had similar problems. Lots of people like to turn around in our driveway. One year, a guest at a party up the road turned around in our driveway and ran right over the mailbox and drove off.

I get sent these and more by friends and family. Unfortunately the nature of BYC means some are not suitable due to people having meltdowns talking about free speech while denying you yours.
