We’re too cold here for them too survive the winter unfortunately, so I dig them, wash them, divide them, dry them (just a little bit - 24 hrs), then store them in vermiculite down in our unfinished basement. It works like a charm, but it is a good couple days of work for the amount I have.

Wow, so they have to do the same thing at the gardens in Halifax. They have a TON of different dahlias.

Yes! The folks that do that are part of the local dahlia society club I attend And certainly not a bad temperature to be stuck at, but I do think winter will be all the more fierce when it arrives this year!

That's too funny! My JRT is definitely part cat and avoid any water like the plague - thankfully that means few muddy messes to clean up after walks though!
