BYC Café

Good morning Cafe! The coffee is on.

Another greyish day here, but not too cold. Salt had her first accident in a week in her kennel last night. Unfortunate as she was doing so very well, but not entirely unexpected for a pup of this age. It was very windy last night so the noise must have woken her up a few times.

Also, our new BCM pullet started laying yesterday and the colour is beautiful. It will become more uniform (less speckled) over the next week.

Good morning Cafe and thanks for the coffee Orca.

Piper is pretty much back to normal. She gets so stinking feisty with her growling that I've been pinning her down until she calms down. It takes a long time because she is MinPin stubborn.
She is rarin' to go so I let her play with her sister this morning.
She was a HUGE hit at DHs living center yesterday. I took her there to go see DH because of our very abrupt ending to our day on Monday. All the residents very gently pet her and she licked everyone's fingers. No chewing. They had all just finished their dinner when I got there.
Something about the night Piper got hurt must have penetrated DHs fog because he had said the word "puppy" to a few aides but they didn't know what he was talking about. He must have tried to say something about her but just couldn't get it out.

Happy Solstice. Hens, get back to work. :gig

We have the generator filled and on the porch, the plow is ready, the gas can is full, and we're ready to hunker down for the impending storm. Sorta like a long winter's nap.

I'm really hoping that they're overselling this blizzard stuff, but doubt that they are. I'm just very (VERY) thankful we can wait it out here at home.

Tomorrow will be 2 seconds longer than today.....that should get them going, right?

I'm going to fill the tub, that should keep the power on.
Oh, wait, that might only work in summer.
I'm screwed if the power goes out for long, only have a bit of really old firewood out there.
SIGH. (Keep calm until it actually happens)
