The pain in my leg was a little better today. I've been icing it regularly.
My family came up to help with my many chores including putting up a face cord of wood and running out to pick up prescriptions. I'm so grateful for them.

Just smoke for us today but maybe some rain tomorrow.
DH is helping DS@ clean-up some junk and I am hanging out here, mainly holding the fort down in case of a fire start. I have cherries that I should do something with, laundry, fun stuff like that!

Good morning Cafe. Coffee is ready.

I'm starting to figure out this pain pattern. It's at its worst when I first get up (before I've taken a dose of pain meds). I can walk off some of the pain. I need to start trusting my leg. It's not the same as before where it wants to lock up or give out. Just gently walking helps lightly stretch the muscles and nerve and calm it down to a tolerable level while the pain meds take effect. Then ice.
I'm currently managing the pain with 75% of the prescribed dose of Percocet. I'll have to do a full dose on PT days but that won't be for a while. I can do this.

Yes! 'Gait training' was a valuable lesson/tool I learned from an otherwise idiot of a PT. I still use it when the knees or feet act up to balance things back up and not cause more problems from favoring sides or limping.

'Cold' and clammy morning again, before another steamer later.

Saw a disturbance in the long grass next to the coop path, looked like one of those 'dam deer' bedded down for the night. At chore time I realized that something had dug up a ground wasp nest. Big 6-8" hole dug and small wasps lingering, I didn't look to closely.

"They" say the monsoons are starting up and today is the first chance of some real rain. I hope so! DS@ sent me an app that some of the hotshot guys use and it registers the .1 acre hot spots that get put out asap. WE HAVE BEEN LUCKY!
I processed all of those cherries and I will make jam today.
The chickens were my BFFs and they ran me down "just in case" more treats emanated from my presence. LOL!
I had to gather my canning stuff and I found a small jelly jar with a mass of jolly ranchers all melted into it. It is now sitting in water waiting for some of it to dissolve. I am thinking DS$ and some sort of cooking experiment... 4 or 5 yrs ago...
