BYC Café

Follow up appointment went well. Up until I passed out!

I asked her to get the steri-strips off my back but she didn't use adhesive remover so I kept feeling it tug on my healed incision. Ge-ross!

She was getting ready to leave to try to find adhesive remover packs to clean off my back and I informed her "I need to sit down".

I could hear the echoing in my ears which prefaces the passing out. As I sat in the chair it got louder and louder.

Then the nurse was anxiously sliding a chair over to me and lifting my feet to put them on the chair. And a BP cuff had magically appeared on my arm and an ice pack on my head! She kept asking if I needed to go to the hospital!

Huh? I said, "did I pass out"?

She said, "yes!"
I asked if my eyes were closed.
She said, "NO!"

She said my BP dropped out and when I felt the cuff, that was the second time it was taking a reading. She took it off after the 3rd reading and said it was back to normal.

I also got a juice pouch and some hard blueberry biscuits to help get my glucose up because I hadn't eaten in almost 7 hrs. What can I say, I wasn't hungry.

No PT ordered. I'm doing great. Keep doing what you're doing and build up slowly. Still no lifting, twisting, bending. Follow up with the surgeon in 4 weeks.

Really, this is not an uncommon thing?

Except for not eating, despite lack of appetite??
I've passed out for overreaction to medical procedures at least 4 times before. Usually compounded by other factors to tip me over the edge.
I ate breakfast...

Good morning Cafe. Coffee is ready.

Nice and cool this morning and I'll be taking the girls out for a run soon.

I woke up early. No particular reason. Fabio was crowing at 4:00 because he heard me. He settled down and started in again at 5:00. About 15 minutes ago, I heard Annie at it in there. Again, she seems to kick off when I have young cockerels in the flock. I looks like all three of Savannahs kids are boys. Cute little buggers but at least 2 will go if I'm right. I'm partial to the lavender one but I'm going to try to choose the one that will hopefully give Fabio the least threat.

The 3 motherless chicks (3MCs) are getting bolder. We never got to do the run upgrade last week so C will do it today under my direction. We also need to get a new battery for the lawn tractor. The POS terminal was very corroded.

Next Monday I will open the chick doors and allow the 3MCs to explore the coop if they so choose. They'll be about 3.5 weeks old and that's a good time to start them into the flock.

Good morning! I'm itchy! And bitten. Seems I'm the only one tho. I go sit in the sand run (on the roost bleachers) and have cuddles in the evening. Maybe that's the problem. The 9o'Flock seem fine. I dusted all the chicken areas with FSL & Sweet PDZ last week and they have a good dust bath with a little DE/herb stuff in it. Except the Fibro EE seems a little off. She's crowing. 😬 But I'm telling myself it's just a phase. Gender identity, etc... I took the day off today because I'm feeling a little lousy. No pun intended. Gah. I'm going back to bed. Hope y'alls day goes your way.

Had to scrape a dead raccoon off the road edge, was easier than I thought, it was right on front of my mailbox so it had to go.
After I rinsed off the shovel and rake, I noticed one of my rain chimes(4 inverted stn stl bowls) was gone. One gets moved around a bit once a great while, but I couldn't find this thing anywhere near.
Very Weird. Wonder if and where I'll eventually find it?
