Not 5 minutes after I posted those pictures I got a paper towel soaked it in some saline to get the gook off of her eye and the thing had ruptured.
The point of the knife is pointing to the itty bitty teeny tiny little sliver that was in her eye! I cannot believe such a tiny thing cause such a mess!

Did it rupture as you wiped it?
I kinda thought there was something stuck in there.
Hopefully you see quick healing now.

How's Bella doing?

Completely fine. She's not even rubbing it anymore. It doesn't bother her at all.

No. I called her over after I got the saline pad ready to go and there was a big gob of bloody goo sitting on top of the area that I thought was coming to a head.
After I wiped everything off I smeared a gob of erythromycin ointment over it.

Bella's eye looks better still.
Over half of the swelling is gone.

You can clearly see where the skin ruptured. I'm cleaning it and coating it with the erythromycin ointment regularly.
She's lucky she didn't drive something into her eyeball.

Got another green egg yesterday. New experience for me, she must have been one of the ones who stopped laying back in June/July. Sure would be nice is he kept it up all winter.

Mid to high 80's for the next 10 days.
At least it's gonna be cool at night, and way better than hurricanes.
