BYC Café

Good morning and thanks for the hot coffee! It is warmer here, 29F, so the snow that fell last night is sticky. We did not get but a couple of inches although it is still coming down.
I have some sourdough bread on its final push towards baking and some sourdough pasta that I am trying out for this evening.
Glad that the trial went well, Sour and that the Cafe is being safe on that crazy ice.
Gardening up here in the clouds is not easy either, @SkyAJK so I can totally understand your frustration. :hugs
Up in the clouds, is this mean you are on highland?

Growing my own food, seeing them germinated, grow and harvest them is such a joy, but the weather is just terrible. I have not seen weather as bad as last year to now.

I put 2 quarts of turkey food out. The huge flock has broken up into smaller flocks. But this morning, it looked like the gang was all there. Along with 5 deer. One of the deer was a pisser and kept trying to chase away the turkeys. They were unimpressed. And better at walking around on the ice than the deer.

2°F here.

Grand Rapids, MI has gotten 62" of snow so far. I bet we've had about 24" if that.

Hubby is working today. He ordered a new computer which was supposed to be delivered yesterday between 4:15 and 7:15. Of course it wasn't, due to "weather emergency." The roads were plowed, the winds were dying down. It think this is their way of saying, "We don't want to drive on the back roads in the dark."

So now it's between 2 and 4 this afternoon.

Since it has to be signed for (thank goodness!), I'll be hanging around the house. Any Freya walks will be before noon, and any potty outs will be short and to the point.

I really hope the computer gets here today. We had them delay stuff day after day at times.

Good luck with the delivery. Delay is better than what they did to me last week which is dump it in the woods under a tree. They then sent me a 'delivered' email with a picture of a box under a tree. It is the woods for crying out loud, there are LOTS of trees. Which tree??

WOW!

I've had something delivered by UPS 4 houses away. Fortunately they sent a picture, so I knew where it was. And our neighbors are all great. Nobody would keep something that wasn't theirs.

My MUCH preferred method of delivery now is postal. The mail carrier is fantastic. The mail boxes are 1/4 mile from our house, but she drives a Jeep, so she can get back here with a package that doesn't fit in the box. She knows all the houses, knows the names of the people who live there.

That is wonderful. They don't deliver mail to me so I have a PO Box at the local Post Office. But of course UPS, FedEx etc. won't accept a PO Box address.
