Hey all, I haven't been on here in a few days, had quit a few pages to go through. For the newer hookers, a pattern that I use for squares might be pretty easy to try, really easy on the counting as I work on my squares while waiting at dr.'s offices so this pattern is pretty easy to stop and start.
I chain 4, slip stitch into beginning of chain, Round one : chain 2( might need 3, my dc stitches are a bit tight so 2 works best for me) , double crochet 3 into circle, 2 chain stitch ( makes corners), double crochet 4, 2 chain stitch, double crochet 4, 2 chain stitch, double crochet 4, 2 chain stitch, then slip stitch into first chain 2. - you should now have a circle in the middle with 4 groups of 4 double crochets, and 4 groups of 2 chain stitch
Round 2 : chain 2, turn, 3 double crochets in 2 chain stitch space (corners from first round), 2 chain stitch, 4 double crochets in same 2 chain stitch space, 4 double crochets in next 2 chain stitch space, 2 chain stitch, 4 double crochets in same 2 chain stitch space, 4 double crochets in next 2 chain stitch space, 2 chain stitch, 4 double crochets in same 2 chain stitch space, 4 double crochets in next 2 chain stitch space, 2 chain stitch, 4 double crochets in same 2 chain stitch space, slip stitch into first chain two - round two should have 4 double crochets, 2 chain stitch, 4 double crochets in the corners from the first round.
Round 3 : Chain 2, turn, work the same as round 2 and add 4 double crochets in the middle space between corners, so it would go from ch 2 turn, 3 dc, ch 2, 4 dc, 4 dc, 4 dc, ch 2, 4 dc, 4 dc, 4 dc, ch 2, 4 dc, 4 dc, 4 dc, ch 2, 4 dc, 4 dc, slip stitch in ch 2.
I was recently diagnosed with diabetes, and the dr's have been telling me I need to exercise more, mad hooking wasn't good enough for them, so 9/1 bought a 22" self propelled lawn mower. It took me until today to get all the yard mowed. Monday did a little hanging on to the mower after we took it out of the box,
Tuesday morning mowed for 2 hours - 20 min mowing - 30 min resting - 20 min mowing - 30 min resting - 10 min mowing, ran out of gas, took 10 min more to decide I had enough for the day. Busy Wednesday morning. Thursday swapped the mowing resting schedule from Tues. Friday, got to mow for almost 2 hours, made it up to 45 min before break, just refilled lawn mower when a rain band from Hanna passed over - at least I was rinsed off before I came in the house
Woke up late Sat morning, and it was burning hot out, so no mowing. This morning I was bound and determined to finish, took all day, but I did it
1 acre, 1 week. The grass has been growing so fast lately that I have to start over tomorrow
I almost forgot. We had a loss friday, Tweety the blue budgie died, we had her for 9 years. Now I am worried about Sammy the Quaker, as that was his chosen cage mate for the last 6 years - he killed our other budgie, I think Tweety told him to as she didn't like her. Tweety loved hanging out with Sammy, she was the boss. She used to push Sammy off the cage, then look at him on the floor and start laughing.
