Cool that you guys have greenhouses! I think are family should get a greenhouse sometime soon. Any idea of how much they cost?

I'm not so sure because the green house was on our property when they bought it. I'm sure you can Google it. There probably somewhere in the thousands...

Okay, so, today I worked in the garden for a few hours. We made more room in the garden, cut the seed potatoes in half, weeded and straightened out the raspberries! The chickens got all the weeds and loved them.

We've decided to start a proper garden this year since it should be the first time we aren't moving in the middle of growing season. I've got:
Bell and cayenne peppers
3 kinds of tomatoes
Broccoli
Celery
Chinese Cabbage
Royal Burgundy beans
Winter Squash
Cucumber
Zucchinni
Echinecea
basil
Camomile
Cilantro
Oregano
Sage
Lavender
and a whole bunch of medicinal plants started inside. I'm hoping to be able to start prepping the outside for a garden this week. I work night shift on the weekends and a few days in the week, so I'm looking forward to these longer days to get things started. Will post pictures as time goes and I've actually accomplished something :)

I want to try celery again...it didn't do well last year. I also work nights so know what you mean about longer days to get stuff done. Still too wet here to do much outside but I do have stuff started inside.

We are planting
Tomatoes
Yellow squash
Green squash
Cucumber
Radish
Lettuce
Onions
Green onions
Brussels sprouts
Peppers (all kinds)
Jalapenos
Pepperochinos
Corn
Beans

I think that's all..... lol

We have clay as well...and ive decided to do raised beds this year for the majority of my garden. I made 2 raised last year just as a test and I was pleased how easy it was to weed and keep up. So we will see.

I've never tried celery before, but that sounds good.

I have that heavy clay sand as well, but things really seem to grow well in it. I plan to rototill my spot and mix it with sand and miracle grow (the moisture control type). With any luck that should help. I think I may have to built some raised beds this next year after all the coop projects are done. With any luck there will be enough lumber left over to use!
