I'm a male too, but I employ the same strategies on the better half. Manipulation is the name of the game. Out of the last five hardware store runs we've done together, I've heard the words "Did we need some sort of power tools?" from her mouth twice. That has not happened by itself...

I'm a fan of honesty... Not to say I'm not guilty of manipulation, or that he doesn't do the same, but mostly it's like this
"This is what I want/am going to do, what do you think"
And We go from there

Agreed. And truth be told. I may be the one with the power tool addiction lately. I like pretty much anything I can get my hands into..

I find if I feed his hobbies- music and recording, I get leeway on mine. Then we are both happy.

All in all, he's a good sport. I think we will try the raised beds this year and the chickens and go from there. He's offered to help me build the coop, which is a drastic change from when I first brought the chickens home. I guess it helps that they are starting to warm up on him.

I have heard many things related to making them men think it's their idea/nurture it/ seed the thought but I don't know how much would apply here. He knows what stock I come from. If my mom wants to do it, despite anything anyone says, she will. I have inherited that and it's obvious.

I also start most of my own projects, and often finish them. However, if it's a project that requires more strength or knowledge than I am able to bring to the table, he's willing to kick in his brain, talent, and strength.

All in good fun! Truth be known, the last 10 power tools that have been bought here have been MINE! Yes, those words would most likely not come out of her mouth unless you had planted and nurtured the thought, OR unless she was well aware of the wonders you could work with those tools, and she also appreciated the benefits of those projects, or even more so, the pleasure that those projects brought to you!

That's what makes a good marriage.
mymilliefleur I tried to post this yesterday but no go . Here is a picture of a wild green I use . It maybe sorrel .
What does it taste like? How do you use it?

Looks a bit like dock @jerryse
Ignore that it looks like sorrel too

Yeah it might be . I used to call it giant dock . It is like 6 foot tall when it goes to seed . With leaves that are 2-3 foot long . I boil it , drain it and add butter and salt . Not bitter like the other dock .
