I dug up one of my sweet potatoes. Not a single tuber. XP

Sorry to hear that. The greens are good to eat also. Funny how that works sometimes. Sweet Potatoes are one of my most dependable crops. I couldn't grow a cucumber to save my life this year & I generally have pretty good luck. Go figure! Sweets take a lot of heat & a long season although from what I hear there are some that will grow pretty far north now. Don't know what those are though. Give it another shot!

I am not giving up yet. I have 5 other sweet potato plants that I will let live for another month, and hope for a different result. I will be happy if I get at least one.

Bummer about your sweet potato crop. What do your vines look like? Mine were definitely getting wan and yellowish when I dug them up. Didn't see a single flower on them.

I listen to Nature in the garden. The crows have been perching in the pecan tree several mornings this week and today when I went outside a squirrel convention dove out of the tree... Yep. Time to harvest the pecans. We pulled all the just-opening pods. If we waited for the traditional nut drop we probably wouldn't see any as there a plethora of rodentia that live in the cedar berm just across the driveway. Anyway, they were easy to shuck and we got 26 lbs. off the one tree.

The only thing left in the garden now are some figs (which tend not to ripen before the first frost) and kale. It was a good harvest year.

Well, they aren't really dying yet, so I Guess that should have been my first clue. But I still have my other 5 that I will wait to start turning yellow. This is my first year gardening, so it is my time for mistakes. :p
