Grafted about 20 bosc pears last night. Took a bit of sluething on line to fine a grafting recipe as I was not likely to find grafting wax at a local store on a sunday. (Yes, our big hardware store closes on sundays here--and I dont mean HD.) Made a mix pararafin, petroleum jelly and coconut oil. Tested the proportions until son and I liked the properties. Thought the CO would have enough anti-bacterial and anti- mold properties to sub for pine tars.

I hope mine do ok. I did not plant many but hoping they will grow the root and not just the tops.

Well mine are doing pretty well considering we're not supposed to be able to grow them here and we planted to thickly, also, ours are a smaller carrot anyway

Plus mine are in a raised bed with potting soil and fertilizer. Fingers crossed.
