Ok master gardeners, I gave in to the deer. They jumped over my six foot electric fence. Here is what's left of my tomatoes crop.

What would you do? I had to pick what I deemed salvageable,as the deer trampled all the plants and even picked a few clean. I guess the Apple's on turnaround 25 yards away weren't good enough for them.

I hope. Can ripen most of them for salsa!
You can make and freeze fried green tomatoes. Batter them with a half and half mixture of flour and corn meal let them dry and freeze for frying later.

Yum! Will try this!

Turn those tomatoes into green tomato pickles.  My husband's grand mother made awesome pickles.  I could have eaten an entire jar of those in one sitting.

I will certainly give those a try too. I love canning!

Tried those when we were in the states 10 years ago because of the movie :). I have to say I don't get why you do it lol. Must have to grow up on them :)

I would be putting a lot of those on a sunny windowsill to ripen. Because of our fruit fly I had to pick mine last year at the slightest hint of it about to turn from green. They all still ripened up on the windowsill (and they still had maggots and went to the chooks)

Look what grew thru the fence from my neighbors yard. :hmm my suspicions were right, my neighbors crop of choice this year included squash. Lol! Better luck next year I guess
