Yesterday I took the hose and just let it run...half hour later saw a tunnel out, no more today. Veggies are in mounded rows there so they can tak a good drink. Lil worried about a row of Toms that are fruiting getting too much water from that but its so hot here they dry up pretty fast.

Plant daffodil bulbs on the edges of your garden. They are poisonous and moles wont burrow past them. Also are you having dry weather? I had problems with moles eating my garden a few years ago and during a very dry summer. I discovered if I poured water in their tunnels in the lawn that they quit coming down to the garden to drink and staying for lunch.

I planted Spinach, Basil, Cilantro, Potato's, and Tomatos
Then I planted

(In my little bitty green house)

Sunflowers, beets, carrots, acorn squash, cucumbers, zuchinni, peas,corn and LOTS and Lots of Pumpkins a few for me and a bunch for my Chickens

Funny thing was that as I was planting and I found myself planting way more than I usually would.. The whole time thinking.. "Oh the chickens will love this" LOL

I use egg shells. Don't bother to start the beans this way they will only grow too fast. Soak them over night and plant them direct. If you are planting corn or peas soak them overnight too and plant direct.
This works very good on tomatoes. When they are about 5 inches you brake the bottom of the egg and plant the whole thing. Squash and watermelon need larger containers because if you cramp their roots you can dwarf the plant.

Thank you! Especially for telling me that about the beans. I was unsure whether or not to start them. I read that the most important ones to start inside were tomatoes, carrots, and cucs.

really? Maybe I should plant some daffodils just incase. I was going to put a marigold plant on the 4 corners of the raised bed, but hadn't heard anything about daffodils.

I have marigolds and radish throughout as great pest crops but they didn't deter the moles.
