Saw my first blooming forsythia today. This has been the latest garden year I can remember.

Mostly I have tiger Lilly's, but I think I have 13 varieties total. I'm putting an easter lilly in shortly so 14 varietiesI diveded mine like three or for years ago so they'll need it next year I guess. I have Easter lilies, never had much luck dividing them though :/
Opposite here, I'm seeing leaves now, it's quite early... Even had worms in the greenhouse soil over a month ago... It's was a nice suprise.Saw my first blooming forsythia today. This has been the latest garden year I can remember.
Those are so beautiful, I'm going to have to find some in white, I have purple mostly, a few yellow (all bearded I think) and yellow water irises, those get taller than me (no too hard to do) but very cool plants...When we bought the property there was a horrid blackberry tangle (well, horrid to me because blackberries were the State Weed on our property in CA) in the fig bed in front of the greenhouse. Whacking through a couple of years of growth revealed much to my delight an iris bed underneath, smothered from the sun for at least two years. Who knew? I dug them up and rearranged them for a more uniform look. They finally bloomed this year. Alas, ALL white with just 2 yellow ones. The previous owners had zero imagination for the garden and no sense. Did they really think a blackberry vine left unattended was going to sit on a puny iron trellis off to the side?Looking at all that white one cannot help but hum "Here comes the bride...."
Hello Gardeners!![]()
I have a question regarding something that was posted on the Natural Chicken Keeping thread last summer. I'm wondering if anyone knows about this.
I remember last year that someone was saying that if you plant zucchini later in the season you will avoid squash borers and possibly other squash bugs.
Does anyone know the specifics on that? How late do you plant?
