Cool. I'll make some poo tea. I got some burlap fabric from the dumpster and sewed it up the side and across the bottom so it's a long tube. Planted a purple sweet potato from the store i there lol! It's already like 2 feet and I can just keep rolling the burlap up and filling in dirt as needed. Is there a time when I should stop filling? I think the bag is about 4 feet tall total.

I'not sure about filling but if its sprouting then its trying to make 'baby pots' you will have to leave it, and let it spawn as it were!!! Kudos for swiping the sack. Just a bit worried that its not's wide enough but tme will tell - you have to be patient, never endingly patient, with pots

I read tht when there grown in containers you start at the bottom and as it grows you add layers of dirt so it's "underground" and I hope it's wide enough lol! I'll get some pics wen I get home. It also drains really well to my suprise

So for fun I went and measured the height of my trees, my cherry with the bad trunk is 4 feet 3 inches it was about three and a half feet tall when I planted it in late December of 2012, the other cherry is 9' 11" it was about the same size as the other when I planted it. My peach I started from seed is 7' 9" so I guess that would make it a dwarf as it's about 11 years old? My scarlet beauty plum is a stunning 11' 9" tall it was about 6' when I planted it.

Well it sounds like you guys have it all under control, and after all I'm in Africa so what do I know!!!. Still think its mould but can't quite see - maybe it was bad to start with - as I say again what do I know???/ sorry

Also do you think if I rooted a piece or I grafted a piece off the cherry with the bad trunk onto a different rootstock it'd still be bad?

Dan thats a good idea IMO. Then I would get rid of the poor performer and replace it with something that will give you fruit.

Hellno, buy a new tree,too much PT. graftng is an art. I have done it trust me not an easy solution.
