can I just ask you guys what is Acorn squash - I thought we had every type here but never heard of it...
It's a little green squash, looks kinda like an acorn (guess that's where it got it's name) they get about a pound or so and are REALLY yummy! :drool

Wow, thats a compliment thank you - can't say I know a lot, just have lots of fruit trees they seem to like our soil - plus have lots of roses. Can't for the life of me get my avo tree to produce - its healthy and been 'wasting space' for five years now. I know they take long to produce and its both male and female )I grafted ha ha. Its winter here now and very dry and cold but my orange tree is full, its only a piddly little tree but almost falling over with fruit. Very weird thought they needed lots of warmth. Nature is very odd sometimes.

Heres my burlap potatoe bag! the plant itself was a lot taller but i rolled up the bag and filled in more dirt

Why are my tomato leaves like this? normal??

EEEEEP geting bigger

great photos really lovely cat and Jameson looks a cool dude. Don't think your tomatoes look too healthy can't see too well, but maybe you should spray - looks like a fungus and black spot which can take over the whole crop. This normally occurs in humid conditions, water only from the bottom not on the leaves, but definitely spray immediately. Really like the potatoes...

Oh I put my foot in it again - sorry - did not mean to disrespect your abilities, but still buy a new tree

I agree that buying a new fruit tree is an option. BUt one only learns to graft by trying repeatedly. SO far I have been too chicken to give it a go. . . .the most recent excuse is that we need more land cleared to let in the sun. CLosed canopy is no place for fruit trees, and dang, 40 tall trees cast loooooong shadows. Cutting down more trees than originally hoped. BUt cant have fruit trees otherwise. ( Still have more trees on other acerage to help me feel better.)

It is but that would have to be my parents decision, so I'll try to save the one cherry :p you should give it a go, the first time I grafted two out of five pear grafts took and five outta ten apple grafts. This year I tried a few different techniques with lower success :/

Your welcome. :) that's about how I am, I learn as I go, I have about 30 fruit trees (not including the nut trees that were here before my parents bought the place) I have a couple roses, I can make the wild rose go nuts with flowers but not any of the others  :idunno
I wish I could grow avocados, I probably could if I put in enough effort but I'll save those for later. Oh awesome! I have a bunch of citrus seedlings I started that I might graft when they get older, right now their about 4 inches tall, oh and there's what ever the root stock is for the satsuma we had, it was in the ground for two years and a nice storm took it out :( and the rootstock came back.
