Re the lighting system, I know you can buy more expensive tubes, advertised with special qualities, but regular shop lights work fine to provide an abundance of light for plant starts. We rigged ours on chains so that we could start them down close to the containers and move them up gradually. I'd post a photo, but that system is down until next year. The plants came up strong.

Mine are also on chains. It works real well to set the bulbs just barely above the seedling flats, then raise them a link or two at a time as needed.

To harvest or not to harvest?

The stems hard and the pumpkin is hard, hasn't showed growth in the past week or so and id like if the **** plant could focus on growing other pumpkins and not spend all its energy on this guys if it's good to go. What do yall think?

@roseyred I'd say go for it. My expertise is more in Asiatic melons and squash but when my grandparents noticed a lack of growth on squash they'd cut the thing loose.

And nope didn't grow any of that this year.....I feel as thought I may be watering weeds..lol
