Co-worker in Virginia got Lyme's disease, nearly died before the medical professionals figured out. What was wrong. After two years he was still feeling effects from it and treatment. Our dogs bring them in also. How do you tell them go away, when they work and protect you. The monthly treatment helps them, but the one they carry will get on you for sure.


We got 3/4" if rain early this morning and another shower in the past hour. I staked up the balance of my tomato plants and the wire basket they are growing in. The rain beats them over. Drys off i will mulch the herb bed.

Ugh my whole potatoe sack fell over. Ripped the bottom of the burlap.....it's pretty well developed thoo..I think I'll just toss some manure over the bottom end and let it do its thing.

Jealous of your avocado! Mine still hasn't sprouted a stalk and it's been two months. All I got are roots. Where do y'all live?

I have two and one is just as you describe yours. The other I pictured was growing fast as hell!! I kept them in water for like 3 months and then planted them

Ah okay. I'll keep them around. If I can grow chilies in Belgium I WILL GROW AVOCADOS. *determined*

They say to put tooth picks in and rest in water, I just got some large hole netting and cut water bottles in half and hung them with the net, wiggled the top half over the net and bottom half and then filled to cover the bottom and screwed the cap back on. Also helps that it has a top cause it keeps the water recirculating and not evaporating. Didn't have to refill them once

I've not had the same good luck with cats and ticks. My cat(s) are plagued with them, though none so far this year. The only tick I've seen was plucked off my neck before it embedded. It was huge. But my cat(s) have had up to 5 ticks/week between the 2 cats. They have always been on the face or neck, particularly along the carotid artery. Often find nymphs in the spring on the cat's eye lids. They are so very tiny that they look like a little tiny bit of dirt, no bigger than the dot on this i.

Rosyred- your mstry plant, at first i thought it was Mint. Second look, it looks like Basil.

Not basil...got that in another pot. Maybe mint? Dosnt smell minty /: hmmm

I feel like I planted lavender and it never grew and instead weeds came up. It's sad.
