I've been gardening for a few years now but decided this year to start leaning towards more perennial crops and herbs. We still do annuals, but if there is a perennial substitution, we'll choose that. We planted tons of brassicas and cole crops already but just got in a batch of Jerusalem artichokes, strawberries (had a patch for two years but El Nino drowned them last years so starting over), Egyptian walking onions, dill, rosemary and expanding my asparagus patch. We've also planted a peach tree and will be adding two pomegranates soon. I'm excited about this year's growing season.

Plant garlic at the base of the peach (You can do it with other fruit trees too) Garlic repels peach borers.
