This creep with the piercing blue eyes. I'd like to see the genes behind it. Pearl eyes and green eyes? Probably not. But I sooo wish I was part of the classroom@thecoop right now. It won't let me view the discussion about the chicken. UGH
Hickory. Her daughter seemed to have it too, which made sense, because she was bred to her brother. That's the main problem with inbreeding in chickens. No birth defects, just increase in unwanted recessives. Just have to breed away from it I guess. As long is you cull away from it, your flock will be green eye free. I can't tell for the next generation what chickens have what eye color, because they are too young. I feel like the females get it more, but I don't think it is sex linked because the articles didn't say it was.That would probably work.
