BYC Is Against SOPA & PIPA

This site shows where your representatives currently stand. It's interesting to see how unpartisan the issue is. http://projects.propublica.org/sopa/

Should have guessed... Both of my senators are on the list that support SOPA.

I am in Canada. What if anything can I do to help from this side of the coop.
Please someone let me know and I'll help to tell the powers that be that they are laying a rotten egg.

From Wikipedia:

I don't live in the United States. How can I help?
Contact your local State Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, or similar branch of government. Tell them you oppose SOPA and PIPA, and any similar legislation. SOPA and PIPA will affect sites outside of the United States, and actions to sites inside the United States (like Wikipedia) will also affect non-American readers -- like you. Calling your own government will also let them know you don't want them to create their own bad anti-Internet legislation.

Ok. Got my emails done. I have some strong views on politics... and as such am quite disgusted with both of my senators.

But I suppose that's life here...

Anyway, I strongly encourage everyone to either email or call your representatives and senators and urge them to oppose SOPA and PIPA!

I called all 2 of my reps and both my senators, and manage to get an hold of both Reps right away, and told them to vote No, and they said that they will vote no. They are both R. :woot
But as for the senators, they are both D, and I had to press 1 as such to get a hold of them, only got the automated massage. Proof that Ds to not what to listen. :he

Called all five of my reps and both my senators. Told the person answering the phone to please pass on to Congressman so-and-so, or Senator such-and-such to stand against SOPA or any proposed legislation that would infringe upon the freedom of the internet. Reminded each of them that as one of their bosses, one of those who hired them and pay their salaries, that I suggest they spend their time on more important matters.

Passing on a tip for calling your Congress people; put their numbers in your phone address book. That way, anytime you see or hear about something that you want to call about, you can do it right then, easily. I call them a lot. Probably on some list somewhere.
Atta girl! I like you a lot.
