I do alot of dishcloths for the family at christmas and right now I am working on a hoodie for me with a zipper in the front. Got one sleeve and the hood to go, wish me luck and keep us updated to the news about the knitting group! Get those needles clicking girls. Trudy

Sometimes on a striped sweater, the body will be striped and the sleeves will be solid. The color of the sleeves could match the button band color. Or you could do the cuff of the sleeve to match the button band and the rest of the sleeve in the other color.

If you go stripes of different sizes, I would tend to go smaller on the sleeves, since they are so much more narrow than the body of the sweater. You'd be scaling down the stripe, as you scale down the size of the garment piece. If you go wider, I think they will look really wide, compared to if you were doing the same size stripe on a larger piece.

On the other hand, I have been woozy and running a fever for 3 days, so maybe I shouldn't be giving out any design advice!

Sorry to report I have not knit a thing! I have two babies due in the family so I am sure the nedles will be going soon!

No project updates to report - apart from my decision to go with the thinner stripes on the sleeves (thanks for all the advice)

I did think about doing the sleeves in one colour, but I don't have enough yarn in one colour to do that

For those of you who make dish cloths... What material is the yarn you use for them? I mean is it 75% acrylic and 25% cotton or something? I'm thinking about shrinkage in all that hot water

Dish cloths seem to be an American tradition that we haven't picked up on here in the UK (either that or it's just one of the many traditions that we have lost over the years!).

Happy knitting everyone

Scoot!! It's so cute!!! I love these craft-a-longs!!! I have a pair of fat knit sticks and have made a long scarf with them, otherwise, I am strictly a crocheter but thought I'd drop in and say hi to the knitters!!!

It does seem to help to put the threads you support in your signature line..that way when you travel around the forum others will see it and get interested..good luck ya'll!!!!!!!!! Happy Knitting
