Batiks used to be a wax resist dyed fabric. Wax was applied to a design and the fabric dyed a darker color. More wax, more dye until the design was completed.

Now the process has been updated and the designs can be simple or intricate with variations in the dye.....with many colors. Batik can refer to the natual variations in the dye color which gives a water color appearance.

Talk about temptation! Everyone sees something and passes it on and you just can't resist......... I found some neat patterns on one of the websites posted here and I saw a jean spread in another. I have some of my yungest sons old jeans and that would be perfect to make for him out of his raggedy old jeans. Hi to everyone, been busy with the magazine since the boss is at an air show in AZ. The Nov. issue will be ready for pick up Monday (which I will do) and then it goes to the PO next day before 7:00 for mailing. After that I can take a breather.

Everytime I see your by-line "owned by an Aussie" I have to keep reminding myself that you're talking about a dog, not someone from Australia.

.....you are talking about a dog, right?

Here is what I have been working on for my middle daughter. She loves anything that has to do with horses. She put the top together herself and I have been working on the embroidery designs. It really need to be ironed now that I look at it in pics.
