your pattern disappeared. Try it again when you get a chance. I bet Zahboo would have great insight regarding the difficulty of this quilt for a beginner.

Pretty quilt. It says it is done in blocks, I can't quite figure out how they did it. Are the pieces sewn together and cut from a template? Curves can be a little tricky, unless this pattern is done a different way. What do the directions say?

Here is the current quilt. I am not sure of the color of the borders. Or if it needs a border... I'm sure it does though.

It's going to be 10x10 blocks. (10 rows of 10 hexagons) It will be lap quilt size. I like it personally, not my favorite though.

Holy crap! that is a hard pattern to do. It was used in old time quilts and called Grandmother's flower garden. You're doing great! I like that the backing has a similar flow of design as the dark block in your quilt. You're going to have to move to a cold climate to use all those quilts.

It's not that hard to do. I got the hexagon ruler that I can just trace with my rotary cutter. Then I messed around for about an hour figuring out how I wanted it laid and have spent since Monday sewing. That's the hard part. SOOOOO MUCH SEWING. And you can't just go in one long stretch. You do one side, cut the string, take it out, realign, and then do another side. It has like 100 blocks. SIGH. It's halfway done. I still have no clue what border....

verthandi ~ I dont know yet, the pattern is not here yet. I didnt quite understand how it is blocks as well. I guess if I cant figure it out Ill cheat and buy a whole cut kit on ebay lol

That's going to be a really nice quilt and I know how hard it was to sew the hexagons together because I hand sewed a grandmothers flower garden. Does the white printed block on the left have a seam stitched on the wrong side or is it just a shadow? It would be awful after all that hard work to get it all together and find that mistake. Keep up the good work. I hope you enjoy quilting as much as I do.

I started one of these year ago and it's still in the works, lol. Mine has triangles that separate the different hexagons. It's still in the box because it was so, I don't know, boring, sewing a little spot, stop have to sew another little spot.
