BYC SEWING/QUILTING CLUB

I need some idea's or ? for that bundle of fat quarters heading my way

I would love to tackle a queen size quilt but I don't know if I can handle something that large.
I could never hand quilt the whole thing, ever - well if I started now I'd finish it in the nursing home

I think I will paper-piece whatever I make, I like it, makes really accurate squares and lines everything up really well.

Whew... I had a lot of reading to catch up! Yet another beautiful quilt, Acres!

And I loved getting to see where you and Wildsky each work on your projects! I just have a corner of the living room right now (and it is a bit of a mess... my fabric is overflowing my totes), but once we're in the new house I get to have an office/sewing room (at least until we start having kids... then my sewing room will be moved to the basement to make room for them)!!

I'm fabric shopping online right now in between reading on BYC (darn dial-up is SOOO slow). I have to purchase fabric so I can get going on my wedding guestbook quilt. Oh and I managed to get my blocks done for the Quilted Rooster block swap last night. I might do an extra set just because I feel like it. Since we're using a 9 patch, they go pretty quickly. Both sets have chicken print fabric in them.

The Yellow Brick Road Pattern is real easy FQ pattern. I can usually make up a crib size in about 3 hours. I could copy and send it to you if you like.

Very pretty (looked i tup on line) I'd like something that create's an almost 3d effect with the colors going darker to lighter... I found one that has thin strips of fabric at an angle - let me see if I can find it.

Ooooo, that one is nice, Wildsky. You might look up some "sunshine and shadows" quilt patterns. Most of the log cabin, courthouse steps, or lanterns patterns use the light to dark colorways.

When you are done piecing it, ask Terrie how much she would charge to do the quilting for you. She recently got one of those long arm quilting machines and could get it done while you are still young. LOL

You know me well!
I actually looked - Terrie has up prices etc. on her page, so YES when I'm ready I will send her a pm or email and see if she will have time to do that for me... I can't IMAGINE trying to do it by hand!
