I use tissue paper for paper piecing. It is .97 per pack at Walmart and you get a lot of tissue paper per pack. A fine tip Sharpie for marking and tracing (with cardboard or something underneath) and it is so simple. The thin paper is easy on the rotary cutter when trimming final size and folds back easily when trimming seam allowances. No problem at all removing when done!

I had got a pkt of tissue paper at wally world or dollar store can't remember which anyway was wondering if it would go through my printer anyone ever try????

Probably wouldn't get clear lines as the ink would bleed. Unless there is a way to adjust amt of ink/ ink flow? Never tried it in printer as I figured it wouldn't feed through and would cause 'paper' jam;-) Ehhh, serenity time while tracing for block after block....

Half of the sashing is finished on my newest fusion blanket




Now I need to secure tails, then sew the long rows together then crochet the long sashes.

I know this looks like a crocheted afghan, but it has a fabric pieced / quilted side too.

Thanks, but if you can do single stitch you can do all the others, it is all based on the single stitch, just added yarn overs or change in where you put your hook through and how many times you put the hook through. Once you figure out how to read the pattern the rest is a piece of cake.

Lol, yep- 'once you can read the pattern!' I remembered a babysitter showing me how to do the single stitch when I was around 9 years old and just picked up some yarn when I was in my 20's and made a blanket for my daughter. When I looked at a crocheting pattern I thought I was back in algebra or literature class!

I have been crocheting for years and years and still struggle w/ written patterns. When I first started crocheting I had an older ladies stash of thread crochet doily magazines that had diagram type patterns, you don't see them much anymore, but they are much easier to understand. To this day when following a written pattern I go one step at a time, re reading each step, blowing up the picture of the finished piece, pulling out stitches that just don't look right and trying again.
