BYC SEWING/QUILTING CLUB

I saw a bra quilt for the first time today on a website, somewhere LOL. I lose track of where Im surfing. That looks like fun.

Is Sew Much Fun a good shop, too?

Yes, it is pretty nice. They don't have a lot of fabric like Mary Jo's does, but what they do is high quality like Moda and the like. Lots of patterns to make all kinds of sewing projects.

Their big thing is the sewing machines. Bernia (sp?) one of those expensive ones, lol. They also teach bunches of classes on how to use the machine to make just about everything.

I've got a $99 Brother that my mom bought me for Christmas about 12 years ago. I figured out how to use it for quilting 2 years ago. I used to do everything by hand.

If anyone wants to make the trip to MaryJo's, I've got a spareroom you can use while you are here. I'm about 10 miles away. People come there in buses from many states away. If you are a first timer, yeah, it can be a full days experience. MJ's is basicly a warehouse full of fabric and everything you need for sewing. Whether you need to redo your sofa or make a baby layette, MJ's has it.

Thats lovely Sara!

I just bought a bunch of flannel a few days ago to make a rag quilt! LOL I have spring loaded scissors to make the snipping a little easier on the hands.

Oh...great colors!

I've gotten sidetracked from the projects I must finish for Christmas. I found this Christmas tree skirt tutorial and have been working on it. Mine's a bit different. Finished the top last night, so just have to put it together. I'll add a picture of mine later today.

Like I said, mine's going to be a little different because I wanted more color. Here is the picture:

I was in Walmart today and seen a girl wearing the cutest blue jean skirt, it was long to the ground. I asked her about it and she said she buys them from a lady who makes them out of used blue jeans. So does anyone know where I can go to get the how too's on this jean skirt. I tried Googling them but I am search engine challenged

. Thanks all, these where really cute skirts and I have tons of blue jeans just waiting for them. (ya know the kind a hole here a hole there LOL.

No idea on where to get a pattern. Just a word of warning.

Do not wash the skirt in your washer for several washings. I made a blue jean quilt with frayed edges. All the little threads got caught between the washer basket and main drum and killed a brand spanking new washer!!

Hubby still wont let me wash quilts at home!

Hey girls! I'm looking for some fabric. I've checked eBay but they didn't have anything I wanted.

I'm looking for some Snoopy/Peanuts Halloween fabric. I have some of Lucy as a witch riding a broom but was hoping to find some more. Will pay cost & shipping if you know where I can get some.

If you have a WalMart Super Center that still has their fabric department you might check there, if not on the regular quilting racks it might be on the discount rack. If you have a Hancock Fabrics or another large fabric chain nearby check out their discount racks. They sometimes put seasonal prints in them to get rid of them. If I find any other places I'll list them.
