Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. I am doing well, much better at home than in the hospital. Just a bit tired, didn't sleep at all in the hospital. Had a visit from the home heathcare nurse today, she was a trip. When I get better, she is going to do a tattoo for me, lol!
Right now I am working on some patches for my own personal pink ribbon quilt. Family members have written little notes of encouragement on squares of fabric. I am embroidrying (sp?) them. I'll combine them with the other patches I have made up for this journey.
Right now I'm going to try to talk the hubby into taking me to the grocery store so I can get some stuff for Christmas dinner
Coyote, I am glad to hear that you are doing better and hopefully the New Year will be much better.
To all my sick sister's out there, get well quick. Stay warm, get plenty of rest, make the significant other do the chores for a few days and curl up under warm blankets and milk it for all it's worth!
Over Christmas break (I am a full-time grad student) I decided I would pull the sewing machine out and start teaching my kidlets how to use it. Son is 9 (never hurts for a man to know how to sew!!) daughter is 6. She has helped me pick out fabrics, so I figured she is ready for the easy stuff.
I do not quilt, but I do sew. I love primitive country items (grubby uglies they call them) And I also cross stitch (Lizzie Kate is my favorite and Bent Creek) and do stitcheries and plan to start needle punching sometime. My mom has rug hooked for about 15 years, and eventually I would like to learn this too.
Hi everyone. Yesterday was my side of the family's big Christmas. My cousin drew my name for the gift exchange. She not only got me a bunch of old quilting magazines and books, a pinking blade rotary cutter, yarn (and coupons for a skein of her hand-spun yarn and knitting lessons from her), but she also got me a quilting frame!!! She found it at a yard sale, I think, but I don't care, I think it is neat! I really want to set it up and check it all out, but we will be moving soon, so I'm trying to wait until then (since our house will actually have room for it to be set up unlike our rented house where we are now). I just figured the sewing/quilting club would understand my excitement!
