BYC SEWING/QUILTING CLUB

I need some help....I'm trying to make fabric yo yo's. Every site I'm finding is pointing me to the 'kit'...or it shows the 1st 3 steps, then skips to finished products...anyone?
Thanks!

I ordered a pile of stuff rom Oriental Trading company last week, mostly beads but I also saw a yo-yo pillow kit for a good price and ordered 2 of those so I can copy the directions and send to you when I gets here Gwen.....pm me your address again and I can make a copy of the yo-yo directions and send that....I've never made them either but they look easy enough, guess we'll see! The pillow has round wooden buttons in the center of each yo-yo, very cute!! http://www.orientaltrading.com/ui/b...roductsCatalog&x=28&sd=Yo-Yo+Pillow+Craft+Kit

Thanks! I had a brain buzz and thought they were incredible to look at. This will be a long project...but I saw an old one in a museum awhile back...it was the most beautiful fragile looking quilt I ever saw! (full size)

Pincushion jars are extra nice because you can also store little things in the jar. Thanks for the link!

Those are cute!! I'll have to look for some of those small squatty jars. You could put a tape measure and pins and a spool of thread in there for a stocking stuffer gift or a co-worker gift

great idea SE..my youngest daughter decided to start quilting-(piecing) this past summer..she didn't even own a pair of scissors-I can't imagine!!! but anyway..I am fixing her a sewing basket with good supplies for Christmas..we always do stockings with little things..this will be great and last year someone gave me some canning jars that had 5-6 1/4 pint jelly jars..2 spoonsful of jelly!!,,they will be great for this!!!

You could always use a quart jar, and then you could store lots of stuff. Just dont fill it all the way with pins, because if you ever dropped it, you would spend the next two days picking up pins.

If you used a quart jar you could add fat quarters or charms too and then tie the tape measure around it for a gift ribbon.

......and Marlin..leave the pins in the box you buy them in!!

I am very excited. I am finally done with this ragdoll, I made the doll when I was first learning to make dolls and finally I have dressed her and fixed her hair. A special thanks to Nanakat who sent me some extras with my block. The lace and the ribbon is from the stash she sent me.

If you are talking about the little jars, I found them at the local grocery store yesterday. They came in a package of 8 for under 5.00.
