Been running all over the world today picking up some stuff for a project I'm working on. (making quilts/bedrolls for the "Meet Me Halfway" charity) but I did get to stop at Maryjo's!!! If you have never been and you are gonna be passing near Charlotte, North Carolina, this is a MUST stop!!

If Maryjo's doesn't have it, it's probably not made anymore!
This is taken from the front of the store to the back. (you can't see the back!!)

This is from the back to the front (that's DH with my Service Dog)

And this is from one side to the other.

I bought these for a quilt I'm making for my 16yr old nephew. He wants to be a police officer, actually DEA Officer. He's in the police explorers now.

Now you know why I must have a Chaperone. Even with him with me, WE spent almost $90

GOSH !.......Those photos bought memories flooding back to me over here in the UK....!!

Before I retired ( because of illness) in 2002 I was a free-lance designer in the theatre, travelling all over the world, working on various productions. I was lucky enough to work in the US many times creating costumes & sets mostly for ballets. I used to insist on being taken to all the local fabric outlets before I started choosing fabrics, to see what was on offer. Usually designers choose fabrics from tiny samples but that never made any sense to me as you need to see how it hangs, lights etc. The wardrobe supervisors were always glad to take me & even more glad when I quickly chose a whole lot of bargain-priced lengths to begin work on. We used to save so much money not having to pay high shipping costs. It was also so much fun.

I have always wished we had the equivalent stores here in Britain. Lucky You.....!!
