BYC SEWING/QUILTING CLUB

I stopped by MaryJo's 2 weeks ago on my way through the area. I left with three bags of fabric, but I could have stayed all day and bought way way more. Their prices are good and they have an amazing selection. You can shop their store on line, too.

Should have told me you were coming!! I could have come and helped you feed your addiction!! Though my husband would have insisted on tagging along!!

ETA--I asked if I could take pictures. The guy at the desk, laughed and said "Sure! People do it all the time." MaryJo's is like a destination stop for some people in their travels. There is even a motel about 2 stoplights away, lol.

Im glad I came across this thread. I have been saving my husbands sofball t-shirts for 23 years. I wanted to make a quilt out of them but I do sew or even know where to start. I have a sweet neighbor lady who said she would take on the project for me. My son hangs out there with her sons so he got to help this meant alot to my son as he will pass this down he said to his son:) Softball is a very big thing in our family. So she calls me over tonight to show me what she has done. When I saw it tears came to my eyes this is better than anything I could ever dream of AND she did it all for free. So me and my hubby had to do something for her she LOVES the Eagles so we got her 2 tickets to the concert

Whatt! You have something waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy better. OMG I've never ever in my life see such amazingly beautiful fabrics as was seen at the Cloth Shop in London (both store fronts). I also went to a few other random places that had a very fine selection of fabrics in a quality you'd find designer clothing and bags in. We don't even get that stuff at Britex here in San Fran.

By the way. One word for the San Jose equivalent of this cool shop in NC. It's not a quilting store like Fabric Depo or the like... but it's amazing and way better than JA's for the rest of sewing (not quilting store). Worth going to. Oh and it's in a stripmall and there are like three different shops so be sure to check out all three, and allow at least two hours just to really soak it in. It's called Fabric R Us.

It's like going to little Asia... no offense but it is in a strip mall that smells like rice and has the most amazing Korean food I've had in a very long time. So go there.

Yes we do have some amazing fabric stores in London but the prices are incredibly expensive. I live out in the country & now I can't drive anymore getting a quantity of fabric home is a real chore. Luckily I still have a large quantity of stuff at home to use up -- enough to see me out I should think.......
