BYC Spinning Fiber

No, and I doubt I will. I got the chance to treadle the kiwi, and it's sooooo much nicer than my Nilus. I'm nearly sold on the Ashford Kiwi complete.

Okay, I'm spinning my Angora for the first time. It's coming out thickish, then really thin.....

What can I make with this when I'm done? I wanted a scarf but I'm thinking the thick/thin might make it look bad...
Any feedback? The only thick/thin I've used was my first wool spun up and I felted it to hide it LOL

I love thick/thin yarns for a multitude of items ... hats, scarves, sweaters.

I did some dyeing the other day...

Ooooo pretty....

My rabbit is a broken agouti, his fiber is spinning up a gorgeous light light oatmeal color. I am going to leave this batch natural and make a scarf afterall.

I'm a big stickler about uniformity, but we'll see.

Curious...

You take the wool from the sheep by shearing... Then how do you get it to look like this above? These long ribbons of roving... A carder?
I'm missing a step in my head I think.

OKay, I suddenly have an opportunity to purchase 100 pounds of raw dorset wool for $20...

What, bear min. do I have to do to it in order to be able to spin it?

I have been spinning my anogra without carding it, but have no idea if the same could apply to wool, espcially right off the animal...

Help?

Someday i will have a spindle someday i will have a spinning wheel Someday i will have a spindle someday i will have a spinning wheel

I wonder how many times i have to repeat that to make it come true?

Keeping bringing on the pictures i love to drool over them!!
