I don't recall many messed up quotes from the nested quotes feature. The nested quotes were an option that had to be selected by the poster. As such the only members that tended to turn on the nested quotes were members that knew how to use them.

Ya, I'm VERY surprised that with all the fixes they did to this new version of the software that it didn't make the quote system better. Heck, just making the quotes show up in the editor as quotes (without the code / syntax) would have been awesome. No idea why it's still showing up like code like we're back in 1998

I'm sure there's some reason they do it that way that's above my pay scale.

I prefer that the quotes still show up as bbcode in the editor. It may feel less "modern", but I've posted on forums that use software that parses quotes in the editor (like IPS), and the way they do it just feels slower and more clunky than the way XF does it, even if it's more "modern".
