Cackleberry Cottage~~comes to life!

Actually, we thought about that, but then there is the problem of finding someone else. I told my husband tonight that they need to get over here and finish or pay us back the money we already gave them. Don't think we will be hiring them to do anything else. I wish my husband could make a living working 15 or 20 hours a week only.

The problem of finding someone else is why he has not gotten rid of them yet. I knew we would be lucky if they finish by Xmas. He thought they would be done by Thanksgiving. I am starting to think maybe New Years... or Valentines Day....:lau They still need to pour concrete, install gutters on the house and the snow rails etc etc.

Oh gosh. This is all very frustrating. We are so close to being done and it is just maddening that they won't just spend one day here and finish it up.

Today I filled their dust bath area with dirt and laid 6 stepping stones outside the door to the run. I hung a planter on the run and made a small garden bed in front of part of the run. I also moved a rain barrel over to the run for when we get rain gutters on it. That way I can water the garden by the run more easily.

Tomorrow I am going to try to put up the trim on the inside of the coop windows. Problem now is we have a huge mess from the winds yesterday and now have two roofs to repair in addition to all this chicken coop stuff. I am feeling quite overwhelmed because my husband does not have the time to do all of this work, as this is his busiest time at work, so I keep trying to help out, but I can only do so much. Today I was just so overwhelmed by all that needs done yet and now this horrible mess and the roofs. Just can't seem to get a break. Can I have some cheese with my whine please?

:) This too will pass. Some day we will laugh about it together, like who had the slackest workers...

You need to think like the Pygmy that ate the elephant and just do one bite at a time. Pick one thing and finish it then have a glass of wine and some cheese.
