Caged Bird and Parrot Thread!!!!

Mum and I just went through her Budgie birdroom checking the nests. Latest chick that was ready for a ring has one.
Some nice chicks are in the Nursery cage, some more coming along, some too small to tell yet. Then there are the eggs that are hatching and being laid.
22 Pairs in the breeding boxes at the moment.

I was gonna breed mine this year set up 3 pairs no eggs where fertile I think their to old so once they all pass I’m done. One already passed recently.

Oh wow lol

Mum has had a few disasters with the loss of a couple of the ladies - and one mature lass who got an egg stuck. We were able to operate gently and get the egg out - lady in question then went inside in a hospital cage for a bit - now fully recovered and out in the avairy - no more breeding for her.

Awwww

Things have settled down - though a few too many are being somewhat slack and having just one chick.
Got to hold the biggest 4 of "she who will produce" a description of the hen not her name. The 2 smallest got fostered upstairs to the pair above who are one of those with only one of their own.
When one pair has 6 kids and one has 1 it pays to even them out after the rings are on.
Beautiful budgies - pieds, golden face, blues and combos of both.
