Thank you Cheryl - it would be nice to see you again! I just got a HUGE egg from one of the Wellies I got from you, and the other one is laying such a beautiful terra cotta colored egg that sometimes I'd like to paint a wall that color....

Just re-read your post about the paint color - it'd be fun to put together a pain palette for coops and name the paint colors things that have to do with raising chickens!!!

Did you get those new Wellie babies all settled in Margaret? Non of my showgirls hatched. I will be taking the eggs out of the incubator soon. As I told you I am almost sure it's my fault. My incubator has always been so reliable. I need to do a good clean up & get rid of the algae in the humidifier. I use rainwater in it that my husband collects for me from the barn. He filtersit & collects a big barrel of it & keep a 5 gallon bucket full for me in the frontporch near the incubator. We were afrid our hard well water would cause a problem for the mechanism on the humidifier. It messes up all my faucets around here. I didn't expect the algae. I have one more set of eggs due on the 15th & I will close down til the Stockton show.

I've got one last order of eggs coming today to set, then once these 100+ hatch the bators will be shut down

Oh wait that's not true... As soon as the flocks come out of the worming time, I'm going to start collecting silver pencil eggs again for dec/january hatchings for my own line improvement. I've been told to hatch early for the largest birds...
