Hey all,

I'm a byc noob and just wanted to say hello to everybody here. Am from Amador county and have found a new obsession/hobby in raising chickens.

The flock consists of 2 egyptian fayoumis, 2 golden laced wyans, 2 silver laced wyans, 2 EE's, 2 polish(1 buff & 1 black/white crested), 3 lakenvelders, 2 australorps, 1 dominique, 6 silkies bantams, and 2 copper marans. The majority of the flock are ladies with the exception of 4 silkies which were straight runs and our 1 copper maran. Only the copper maran is laying eggs atm since she and the roo are 6 weeks older then the rest of the flock. They were introduced to the flock only about a week ago and the bcm hen has some serious attitude. None of the other little ones want to be within a stink eye shot of her.

Assume I'll have to start working on more posts now. Thanks guys!

Stockton show is coming up in January.a great place to see alot of chickens. Maybe you can make it to that & we camn all connect.

Believe after this post i can put up some pics or at least a profile picture. To sewandgrow: I used to just walk by the chicken's at the fair but now I'm such a fan I'd probably stop and look in each cage. I will probably try and make it to the show being that it's only 45 minutes from here. To gryeyes: Yeah that is super close! I've only driven through Somerset a few times since it's a bit off the 49 which is the only route I really take if I'm going up north that way. I can see how this will be another great past time next to spending time with the chicks.

Lets see....a Porcelain roo, some buff roos with smut, maybe some buff pullets and who knows what else, probably some others that havent hatched yet! I plan to show some too. My son will be bringing some Holderreads Pencilled Runner drakes, What about you?
