Oh, hey, somewhat local people!

I'm in Penn Valley.

I just hatched two black east indies ducklings and eleven new seramas in the last few days so I'm enjoying myself at the moment.

Hey Karen if you're feeling well enough Olivia is having a purse party tonight at 6:30. Can't find Vickies # and was going to invite her to, since she's in Oakdale. But if you and your daughter would like to go I can get you her address. She's in Riverbank. Just something to do if you'd like to go.

Moved more babies out. Doubled up on water this moring and I'm going to hit HD for some scrap plywood if they have any. Trying to get breeding pens done and some more coops.

I need a much bigger roo pen. These Maranas guys are gonna be huge.

I hate to do it, but I had started a project of Bantams and I'm down to just a little red roo. He's so pretty I hate to get rid of him, but he's one of the reasons I need a couple of extra pens. He's getting beat up and I have no where to put him but out with my Maranas. They only ones besides the Games that don't kick his butt. I may go take a pick of him and put it in here. Here is a pretty bird, so maybe someone would like a little guy for their yard.

I have some Wheaten Marans piping right now. I have to leave for the doctor's soon. Maybe when I get home I will have babies........

Okay you locals...........Who vaccinates? How do you do it? Where do you get your supplies? I haven't as of yet but am more than willing to. I have a very low loss count once they are out of the shell I rarely lose one. I start them on medicated Start & Grow & leave them on that til they go outside. I was told I don't need to for Mareks because I have a turkey & have had a long time & he is free out there with the chickens.

I do not currently vaccinate, not saying I wouldnt though in the future.

How are the chickens holding up in this hot weather? It's in the 90's now.

I haven't been out but I think my grandkids were in the pool today.
