California - Northern

It was a baking day for me too.  Whenever it's cold and gray I want to bake.  I planned to bake cookies and pulled out an old cookbook.  I found a bar cookie recipe I had written into the cover 20+ years ago, probably hadn't made them since.  Then we went very unhealthy for dinner, deep fried prawns and homemade onion rings.  Yum!

She is beautiful.  I need to find a way to collect the blue.................maybe someone coming to Stockton?

Ya I figured chick exchange in Stockton. I original had 3 for you but OE died and one got claimed by a 6 year old who had t return his favorite chicken because it was a boy and his mama promised him another showgirl. He saw her yelled "poodle" and I was stuck! That kid seriously did not put the chicken down for the 20 min he was here. He kept telling it not to be a boy.

Hairdo might be old enough to bring then but I worry about those showgirls when they are so little and young. And I think the doo is going to be tiny.

Love them... How did you do them? Glue and glitter?

I just checked the Sand Hill Poultry catalog, and it looks like they have removed the multiples of 25 for chicks from their requirements. If so, then you can get what is hatched for the breed you want. Kim wants Delawares, Jason wants Black Penes and I want La Fleche. That leaves Partridge Pennes and you can get up to 15 PP's per shipment.

Maybe Jason can check on the shipping numbers for us.

Sounds like fun!

Added: We still have to order at least 25, but we could order from 26 to 50 and are not required to go to 50 if we want more than 25. At least I hope so....
yes the prices seem to be updated on there site though I was only looking at Pene's..
Ron did you ever hear from Heritage on the Emp's. If you get any to hatch I can trade ya something.
Deb is doing a test hatch on my crele as I am moving and dont want to mess with the bator this next few weeks.
I will need a few weeks to get the Sand Hill order / money since you have to pay upfront.
My fencing for the coops and runs is making me poor lol.

By all means take your time! If needed, I can go up too on the number.

I have not heard from him yet but I think I will send a PM. Sometimes emails get lost or sent to spam. About the new incubator, The Brinsea 40 might be the best. It even says in the literature that it is the model to use with hard to hatch or expensive eggs. Between it and my two Genesis incubators I can still hatch hundreds of chicks for Kim this season....

Guess what? I was second place for best NYD Hatch-a-long participant! Deb won the pick the first three to hatch contest, so The Northern CA thread really represented--especially with Chiqita being a host. Gotta love it!
