and another update, i've discovered I cannot hold her AND the syringe AND pry her mouth open -- i'd need a third hand. BUT when i put her back down in her little enclosure, facing the waterer, she took a little sip. and she seemed *slightly* less catatonic than earlier, she at least had moved a little bit -- i think getting her warm is helping.

thank you ALL for your help with this!
Yes! You need help with the syringe.

encourage her to drink every once in a while. Being a mix, she should be fairly hardy.

Hoping for the best!

OK the one thing I really hate is squab. That is some nasty stuff. Almost everything else I do not like I can be convinced to eat when cooked by a top notch chef but not that. Back when I made a decent salary dh joined me in NY for a convention and his family and I bought him dinner a a very good resteraunt. They served squab on the tasting menu and. Had to spit it out. Luckily d is a limitless food container and ate it happily.
Ha ha I've never eaten it just saw a super funny episode of Three and a Half Men where Jake ordered it in the restaurant and then threw it all back up lol.

In fact, I'm baking right now and the recipe is by weight. It called for 150g of egg. I used one huge egg................65 grams, put in a large took me to 110g, threw in a bantam, 140g. I was going to call it good and thought, what the heck and put in a quail egg..........................148g. I called that good, LOL I call those breed specific recipes

OK, question. I have some Marans and ee ( probably all roos now) born on Nov 27. They are flying and getting out of the brooder and I'm afraid they will eat something in the garage since they are sneaky and getting out of the cover. I had one of the last batch do that and pass.

Do you think it is safe to put them outside? It has been very cold. They have a mother, but they are too big to sit under sparkles the mini silkie. ( like not even one could fit under her. They would be 6.5 weeks old now. They are feathered on the top, have not inspected the belly.

Someone picked up my 2 button quail I have been trying to rehome because they hate it at my house and they wont lay. he seemed very happy, and so am I! NOthing worse then birds that don't like your house, and now I don't have to leave the light in the workshop on all day for them.

she feels better in the warmth and with drinking a bit. How are the other birds doing?

With my birds when they weren't feeling well I would dip their heads in the water - then hold their heads pointing up and they would swallow some. I only did it a dip at a time so they wouldn't inhale it... and this was with young chicks.
