I am going to hatch more soon, so we will see what happens. I hatched 5 pullets and 2 cockerels.

Pretty good ratio Ron!

I know! It's one of the best for me. Like Chiqita said, the roos were way to pretty to eat.

Well I guess that is not true for Mountain Lions!

Louie was a brave boy too. (He was taken while defending his girls).

Both those Marans look like cockerels.

Thanks guys. The last time I had a pullet wait this long to lay, she laid for a couple months, then went broody. I wonder if that will be the case with this girl. And yes, it is a very large egg - either a double yolker or she skipped the pullet egg size.
Gosh I would be worried my chicken was broken. hehe I am so glad she finally laid for you!

If you end up with an extra pretty pullet on your hands, can you send it my way? ;)

If your citrus are in pots, try putting xmas lights on them, we do it every year and make sure to water them thoroughly today!

It's 28 out there now. I better bring the cactus gardens in the garage... that is if they survived last night... I've had them on the front porch close to house with an infrared lamp, but then the bulb burned out... can't figure out where to get a replacement bulb yet...

Wo - I never would have thought of using christmas lights. That's brilliant!

Amy Beth wants pullets and Chiqita wants a nice Roo!

I need to start a list! I will work hard to get one for you!

Hopefully my new incubator will help me get a good hatch rate. With so many wanting them, maybe I should get 24 eggs? If I do that, Linda will probably give me 30. She is like that you know...
