Good Morning Peeps!

Sending prayers to Molly! May you get good news today and have peace and strength!

This came in my email--a trick for peeling hard boiled eggs!

Monet and I just tried this! We followed the directions exactly. We could not get the egg to blow out of the shell no matter how hard we tried! It was pretty funny!!!! The eggs did seem to peel easier, though. Maybe the baking soda in the water helped with that?!

Edited to say that the eggs we used were 2-3 weeks old.

One more question. Can they have tape worms without having the segments in their poop? I haven't gotten the Valbazen (however it's spelled!?) because there are no segments and I figured the other wormer would be adequate.
Tape worms always have the segments. The life cycle includes flees and the tape worms have to come from another animal like a dog or a cat. It is very unlikely that they have tape worms. I should have posted again that Ivermectin still works for me. I tested mine after treatment and there were no worms. Others have had the symptoms of worms go away very quickly after treating with Ivermectin. IF you have it use it!

Eating the eggs while treating is ok unless there is an allergy to it. A reason to not eat them is parasite resistance in you. I do not really understand how it could cause that in us but it is a consideration. There would be no problem feeding the eggs back to the chickens or to other farm animals.

I am hoping for the best for your flock!

I am going to give this a try tonight too!

Yes, we did try 'aging' the eggs, but my chickens are young, one year next month, so I can't change that! I still think it might be his well water. I haven't had any trouble peeling my eggs (boiled in my well water!).

The baking soda should help if it is the water. Another important point in the video is boiling slowly. I do not boil for 12 min.

I start with cold water to cover the eggs. I put a lid on the pot, turn the burner to high and when the lid starts to wiggle, turn the temp down to simmer keeping the lid on. I let them simmer for 4 to 5 min. and then turn off the gas. It then sits for 6 minutes. I then pour out most of the water and cover the eggs with ice to cool down.

Tonight I will do the above but add the baking soda too!

Please let us know if it works for him.

Thank you. The yogurt seems to be helping too. I ran out for a day though, and the audibly splooty watery stools came right back. (Sorry to be gross, but at a distance, you can hear them going!) Maybe instead of redosing with Ivermec at 10 days, I'll get some Wazine or other wormer and see how they do.

Quote: Yes! Get a different wormer for the second dose. That is what is being recommended now. Always give them Kefir or Yogurt after treatment for 3 to 5 days. They need to get their digestion back to normal.
