Quote: Me....................I take the laptop with me and sit on it in the hotel room......................even down by the pool when we are in Mexico. I'm made chicken egg purchases, incubators, all kinds of stuff while on vacation, LOL My DH always just says......................."it's nice to see you be able to do that as long as you want".............good hubby!

Even found a free dog kennel on Freecycle while in Cabo and asked them to hold it for me until I got home the following week, LOL ("no problem").

I'll try to get organized and post some pictures of the adults.

Just moved to California getting back in to silkies and showgirls any one have birds. For sale

Welcome! I remember you from the showgirl thread. Did you have to sell all your beautiful girls when you moved or are you looking for some new stock/colors?

I have silkie babies hatching, and my new white showgirl pair just started laying, just testing fertility now. I also have a showgirl partridge too who just started mating. His toes and feet are not great but his color is amazing. We are in San Jose.

For that matter I have some extra silkie roos from cat dance silkies too that are very nice.black and what I'm guessing is Colombian.

WWW did it all on it's own, now resting up and drying off!

Huzzah!!!

Perfect way to assist a hatch. Give them time and space and crack open the shell as little as possible. Pictures?

Quote: to all with Birthdays!

I locked down 13 Bresse eggs last night. This is the 4th shipped eggs hatch in a row that has done this well. I expect most of them to hatch. I am incubating in the Brinsea Octagon 40 and hatching in a Genesis 1588. The Brinsea was expensive but then again so are those shipped eggs....The Brinsea is always spot on for temperature and humidity. I love it! The Genesis is great too. Both are good choices.

This evening starts day 21 and I've already got seven chicks out of 31 in one incubator. The other incubator none have pipped yet so waiting patiently on those 23!!

Congrats to all the hatching chicks and happy birthday to all of those celebrating. I'm super happy I think I have found a incubator setup that will work for me! incubator warehouse sells a heating/fan/thermostat combo that I'll be mounting in an good sized igloo cooler. I found a cooler big enough to hold all the snake eggs I need it too which means it's also wide enough to hold an egg turner! I'm in an area where I can only legally keep 6 hens so I won't be hatching out a lot of chicks constantly so it'll be running most of the year with different critters inside. So happy I actually found something that should work.

If that is the kit I think it is, you could set it up in a bathroom cabinet too. If you get a big enough cabinet, you could hatch hundreds of eggs!
