Definitely! Quick before he changes his mind!

Do you know my husband?!! Actually, he's probably relieved that he doesn't have to think of something!

You are so welcome and enjoy... congrats on the new incubator!!

I think that they need to design a super sized skelter! Monet has co-op science class today and I'm going to take a few dozen eggs with me. My Langshan and SPPR pullets are laying like crazy! I'm also really pleased with my lavender Ameraucana sisters and my one blue wheaten Ameraucana. They are laying almost every day and the blue is a beautiful color. Last year my BW laid a very lightly blue tinted egg. I am feeding them some different things this year and I'm wondering if that is making a difference.

Keeping my fingers crossed for Wrong Way Willie!

I'm soooooo excited, I pick up my lavender Ameraucana eggs this weekend!

I'm getting them from Secret Garden Poultry south of San Jose. My incubator has been all set up and running for a few days now to stabilize. Looking forward to fluffy butts!

That's exciting! I have 2 lavender Ameraucanas that are laying blue eggs like crazy! They are small for LF but one of them that we named Gidget doesn't let any of the big girls push her around! I love them!

Mariah and I worked on "Wrong Way Willie" this evening. Got quit a bit more shell and outer membrane cleared away. It's now resting on wet papers with another wet paper towel over the remaining upper shell, staying moist thankfully. I'll check in the morning and see about getting it freed completely from it's shell. So far seems to be holding on OK.
Go, Willie!!! How is he doing this morning?

If the rule says no PS and they mean no Photo Shop, then the rules need to be fixed. Photo Shop is a program from Adobe. It is not a Generic term for editing. The rules need to be more specific. Digital cameras shoot in RAW format or they pre and post process the image. My point is that nearly all Digital images are processed and optimized in some fashion. When a camera does not pre or post process the image, then it is custom processed by a program like Photoshop.

When I entered the Calendar contest, I changed the canvas size and cropped the frame. Was that Photo Shopping? If I changed the color curve is that Photo shopping? Or to they mean to not combine two images or run filters?
I clarified the rules here:

Basically we don't want things added into the picture that weren't in the picture - like when you add a caption bubble. Cropping, is fine. I spoke with Amy privately on her concern and it's not a problem.

Since a lot of people keep roos with the hens and let them eat layer, the calcium is a bit low in a lot of feed. The instructions for the King Feed Natural non soy it says to add free choice calcium for stronger egg shells.

Give them free choice calcium- do not mix it into the feed. They will not eat too much.

thanks, that's what i've done -- put the oyster shell in a separate container & let them figure it out.
yay, glad i'm on the right track!

and yesterday got 8 eggs from 11 chicklets -- they're ramping up production!

I don't know if I said this earlier (I meant to), but I got the same package deal from them. The quail eggs came in a separate shipment and arrived a day or two after the incubator.

Just moved to California getting back in to silkies and showgirls any one have birds. For sale

Welcome to the thread..............I have the cute little fluffies. Been hatching lots of paints lately, both silkie and SG.

My husband, AKA The Enabler, keeps asking....................have you ordered the ducks yet?..............I think you should do it right now!

My birthday was Friday and my husband said the same thing and my kids gave me a skelter! I've been using it to hold the eggs I'm going to set in the new Brinsea Octagon 20 on Saturday. I was stressing over the price and thinking of not getting the humidity pump and my husband said to just get what I needed to make it the easiest to hatch. He said he wants me to enjoy this one not get all stressed over it like I did with the Little Giant!

Make Hollendaise sauce....I made it last year for my 4 year old granddaughter and now, every time she comes over she wants it. We love it on asparagus and other veggies too.....and it takes a lot of eggs! We have an overzealous lemon tree too so it works for both.
Happy late birthday! I've gone back and forth on which incubator to order. The plan is now to order a Hovabator. WHEN I need and get a larger incubator, I can use it as a hatcher! I loved using Cheryl's Rcom 50 but I think that I had just as good hatches with her Hovabators. They just take more watching which Monet and I can do. The Rcom was sure a breeze to clean up, though!
